The practice of making pure beeswax ready for candle makers is quite laborious and a respected craft still perfected by many bee farmers around the world. During harvest season, Apiculturists carefully separate the honey from the comb and any debris left behind. The wax is then slowly melted in water and left to cool, further cleansing it from any impurities. Once the wax solidifies, it floats to the top into a self-shaped slab. The process is then repeated a few more times to ensure the purest quality of beeswax is achieved. The fascinating process and curious life of bees leaves them completely unharmed and ready to get buzzing back to the work of making honeycomb in no time.

You can help support local pollinators by buying bee-made products.
